15 Popov saves and unrealized penalty Zabolotny

The match of the 23rd round of the RPL between Sochi and Rostov until the last moment remained in doubt due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in the team of Valery Karpin. Even before the game, it was not known whether it would take place.

However, on Friday morning, Sochi announced that the meeting would be on time. The guests, however, confirmed the hunches of the media and hastily began to declare young academy players on the RPL. As a result, the yellow-blue application for the match did not include a single player older than 19 years.

In the afternoon, Rostovites under the leadership of head coach Zaurbek Tedeyev urgently flew to Sochi, and upon arrival the young players unloaded their luggage themselves.

The opinion of the public was largely unanimous. At least they wished the young team success. Supported her and Karpin.

“We have televisions in the rooms, all players and coaches will cheer for our children. The main thing is to do without injuries, I wish everyone good luck and health, ”the club’s official website quotes the coach.

The hosts themselves added fuel to the fire, who, on the eve of the match, made fun of the “schoolchildren” in their Instagram account. Later, the post was deleted, but a lot of critical comments managed to appear under it.

Yes, and the coaching staff of the hosts did not go to meet the opponent and released the strongest team on the field.

However, the game began in a way that no one expected. Already in the first minute, Rostov opened an account. Danil Khromov handled the ball in someone else's penalty area and made a discount on Roman Romanov, who just shot into the corner from his left.

The midfielder, who began his career in football at the Spartak Academy, was among the five youngest goal authors in the history of Russian championships. He distinguished himself at the age of 17 years 2 months and 22 days and took fourth place in this list.

Sochi equalized five minutes later. 17-year-old Denis Popov missed a shot by Andrey Mostovoy in the near corner, and Vladimir Abramov, trying to knock the ball out of the line, cut it into the net. At the same time, the defender was pushed towards the goal by Anton Zabolotny.

Soon the defense of the guests again failed, and Alexander Kokorin realized a one-on-one exit and scored the hundredth goal in his career.

It was quite alarming for Rostov in the middle of the first half, when the hosts earned a penalty. Cyril Girnyk in a tackle shot down Andrei Mostovoy in his own box.

The same Zabolotny set off to beat the eleven meter, but Anton was not able to beat Popov. The 17-year-old goalkeeper guessed the direction of the ball’s flight and pulled the ball out of his left corner.

After that, Denis caught a real courage and began to make one spectacular rescue after another. He miraculously countered Kokorin's blow through himself at point blank range. He coped with a long-range shot by Nikita Burmistrov and, in general, made nine saves in the first half.

However, in the end, the Sochi people still managed to again break through Popov. The young goalkeeper unexpectedly lost control of Kokorin from an acute angle. From his hands the ball ricocheted into the net. And in the time added by the referee, Anton Zabolotny, through a blow through himself, brought the score to a major - 4: 1.

In the second half, the beating of the guests continued. In just seven minutes, the hosts scored three times. Zabolotny designed a double, Kokorin - the second hat-trick in the RPL in his career. Even Ivan Novoseltsev, who had not scored in the Premier League for almost two years, scored a goal.

After that, Sochi took a short break, and several young players appeared on their field: 20-year-old Nikita Koldunov, 18-year-old Vadim Milyutin and 20-year-old Andrei Bokovoi. The last two made their debut in the Premier League.

Finally, the wards of Vladimir Fedotov finished off a tired opponent already closer to the final whistle. The double managed to be issued to replace Dmitry Poloz. Another ball was chalked up by Sorcerers, who spent only the second game in the RPL.

The victory of Sochi with a difference of nine goals was the repetition of the largest defeat in the history of the championships of Russia. In 2000, Lokomotiv beat Uralan with a score of 9: 0. At the same time, for the first time, one of the teams scored a double-digit number of goals.

The statistics of blows is also impressive. The home team fired 43 shots on goal of the opponent, 26 of which were on target. “Rostov” answered with two and one - on target. He became productive.

But young Popov, despite ten goals conceded, set a Russian championship record in the number of saves in a single match - 15. Denis made nine of them in the first half.

Goal Glushakova and the first ball Glushenkova in the RPL

The first match of the Russian championship turned out to be eventful as well after the resumption of the season, in which Wings of the Soviets and Akhmat met. The hosts opened an account in the sixth minute. After filing a corner Taras Burlak from close range sent the ball into the goal. It is noteworthy that the Samara team scored the first goal in the current national championship after the corner.

In the first half, the wards of Miodrag Bozovic calmly held the minimum advantage in the long run, but at the beginning of the second inexplicably failed. The defense of “Wings” began to make one mistake after another.

As a result, Akhmat scored four times in 16 minutes. They managed to take a double to Vladimir Ilyin, who moved to the Grozny collective from the Urals at the beginning of the year. For him, these balls were the first in the new team.

A significant contribution to the success of the guests was made by the experienced Denis Glushakov. After he hit the crossbar, Ilyin finished off the ball into the net and equalized. And after just a few minutes, the midfielder scored himself, as if he had struck from the goalie line.

“Wings” managed only to get away from a major defeat in the end of the meeting. Maxim Glushenkov after serving Alexander Gatskan just struck his head and scored a debut goal in the RPL.

“Akhmat” strong-willed victory in Samara allowed to rise to 13th place. “Wings” dropped to the last line.
