GreenEdge, structure of the World Tour Mitchelton Scott team, has decided not to continue its relationship with Manuela Fundación, the Spanish entity based in Granada, which, according to the announcement made by the two parties on June 12, was now to take over the Australian team.

"After careful consideration, GreenEDGE Cycling today informed Mr. Francisco Huertas , owner of the Manuela Fundación, that it will not proceed with the agreements established on June 5, 2020," says a note from GreenEdge.

As the austral formation explains, the initial commitment has been broken.

"We feel a strong initial connection to Mr. Francisco Huertas, the Manuela Foundation and their lofty goals. However, as the negotiations have evolved after the initial announcement on Friday, we have concluded that the relationship will not continue. We wish Francisco Huertas already the Manuela Foundation all the best for the future ", explains the founder and director of the team, Gerry Ryan .

Going forward, the GreenEDGE Cycling men's and women's teams will compete again next month under the existing Mitchelton-Scott banner, with a financial and technical structure fully backed by Ryan.

"The global COVID-19 crisis has posed many new challenges, but our primary focus remains our world-class athletes and our support staff."

This situation will include "a return to full wages for all riders and staff once the World Tour begins racing in August, and a commitment to the year 2021 while," he says, "we seek adequate sponsorship."

"We believe in this team and in the people and culture that have made it so successful over the past eight years. Our riders have been inspiring in their commitment and motivation in what has been an uncertain season, and our loyal and determined staff has provide the best possible service in what will be a busy and challenging end of the year. We can't wait to get back on the road and start winning more races, "the note concludes.
