The Football Association and the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Professional League decided to put an end to the current football season, as a decision was reached not to complete all competitions, from the Arab Gulf League, the President’s Cup and the first-class clubs for amateur clubs.

The association’s general decisions came during its meeting yesterday with the video-telephony system, as it also decided to refuse to crown Al-Ahly youth with the title of the current season of the Arab Gulf League, which the association’s board of directors decided the day before yesterday not to complete, after it had stopped since mid-March, due to the measures taken against Corona Virus Spread.

Eight of the 14 clubs voted against granting the title to Al-Ahly youth as the leader of the competition, while only six clubs voted in favor of it. The “General Assembly” also decided to refuse to increase the number of professional clubs in the next season 2020-2021 to 16 clubs, and to limit the 14 clubs that currently exist.

The decision to refuse to increase the number of clubs eliminates ups and downs, which means, in practice, that the Dibba Al-Hisn and the Emirates teams, which are strongly candidates for the ascension, will not rise, given that the UAE tops the amateur league, and its runner-up is Dibba Al-Hosn. The meeting approved the cancellation of the current season with all its results without adopting the coronation or landing.

It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly youth was leading the competition with 43 points, a difference of six points from Al-Ain Al-Wasif, and seven points from Al-Jazira III.

Ibrahim Abdul-Malik: The decision is a great failure

Ibrahim Al-Ahly Football Board member Ibrahim Abdul-Malik expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision to cancel the league, without specifying the champion. Abdulmalik posted a tweet on his account on Twitter, yesterday, saying: “Throughout my sports history, I have not seen or heard that the Football League Championship is decided by voting by competitors. "It is a big fall." Ahmed Tariq - Dubai

During the year, the ranking of clubs was approved in the last season for foreign participation, as Sharjah will participate in the next season of the AFC Champions League, as the champion of last season, Al-Wahda, Al-Ain, and Al-Ahly youth as the title holder of the President’s Cup last season, after the Football Association’s decision yesterday By canceling the final of the competition and its results, the Al Ain and Al Dhafra teams had reached the final match, and the results of the Amateur League were also canceled.

The leaks came out before the meeting to lead a number of clubs, the decision to refuse to crown Al-Ahly youth and not to increase the league seats.

The agenda of which professional clubs received a copy did not include any item to vote on granting the title to Al-Ahly youth, as it included five points, namely, calling to attend and verifying the completion of the quorum, and a speech for the president of the Association’s Board of Directors, Abdullah Nasser Al-Junaibi, and three were chosen Club officials to approve the minutes of the meeting and appoint the external auditor.

The most important point was the adoption of the system of ups and downs for the seasons 2019/2020 and 2020/2021, and the resulting decisions. The association's invitation included consideration of the text of articles 1, 3 and 4 of Article 45 of the statute. The head of the football club in the Fujairah Club, Nasser Al-Yamahi, emphasized that the clubs' point of view of keeping only 14 clubs is related to financial, technical and organizational matters related to the competition, and to the "calendar" of the national team next season. He said in statements to the media: "Any decision that would have been issued on him would satisfy a group of clubs and infuriate the other, but in the end the decision was issued in which the general interest of Emirates football is."

On the other hand, the Football Association decided in a press statement, after its emergency meeting yesterday, remotely, headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, and with the participation of all members, not to complete the President’s Cup competition for the current season, and to cancel the administrative penalties for players and coaches, who received the yellow cards in If they are not implemented until the date of cessation of activity, provided that they do not move to the next season, and apply the rules stipulated in the discipline list related to disciplinary sanctions.

He also decided not to complete the first-class competition for the current season, and thus not to win the champion of the competition. It was also decided to cancel the club's rise to the professional level, and to keep the same number of clubs in the amateur league for the next season.

The Federation said that any administrative penalties requiring the suspension of a player or coach as a result of obtaining a yellow card will be canceled in the event that it is not implemented until the date of cessation of activity, and that it does not transfer to the next season of the competition.

In terms of external participation, it was decided to rely on the results of the competitions of the last sports season 2018-2019 to determine the clubs that will participate in the external championships. The Football Association said that these decisions were taken, after discussing the developments related to local football competitions, and after coordination and communication with the competent authorities in the country and the evaluation of health conditions, in addition to the developments that have taken place by the Football Association, and based on all the data and based on the powers granted to the Board of Directors of the Federation The ball according to the statute.

The Federation stressed that the first goal remains concern for the safety of community members and the soccer family, including technical and administrative bodies, players, referees, fans, and other associates, praising the efforts of the clubs and their cooperation to implement all decisions issued during the past period.

Majed Al Owais: We refuse to crown the hero with an administrative decision

Al-Ain Football Club board member Majid Al Owais confirmed that the clubs that voted not to increase the seats in the Arab Gulf League clubs and crown the champion chose the least harmful decision for all, indicating that they "refuse to crown the champion with an administrative decision." He said in statements to the Abu Dhabi Sports Channel yesterday, that «Al Ain Club presented its point of view, before the association’s general meeting to complete the season, especially that the remaining seven rounds could have been completed in only 35 days, and as long as a decision was taken not to complete the season, it is difficult to culminate in any Team".

He added: «The agenda did not include any item to consider crowning Al-Ahly youth, but it was understood from the lines that the vote on increasing the seats of professional clubs was that the issue of crowning the leader would be addressed.
