The US Open will be played at the end of August-September, with no audience and with several restrictions.
But several stars have been critical and hesitant to play.

But now the reigning champion on the women's side, Canadian Bianca Andreescu, steps forward and supports the decision to play the Grand Slam tournament.

“For me, there is no doubt that the USTA (the American Tennis Association) has devised the best plan to ensure our safety when we return to tennis in 2020. I know the decision was nothing that was taken simply. I support and understand all players' personal opinions on the issue and the security factor they feel about traveling here and there to compete at the extreme level, ”she writes in a statement on Twitter.

20-year-old Andreescu is currently ranked sixth in the world. She defeated Serena Williams in last year's US Open final.
