The Emirates Football Association’s board of directors decided, during its meeting today, with the videoconference system, headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the Federation, and with the participation of members of the Board of Directors, not to complete the President’s Cup competition for the current season, as well as the first-class league competition for amateur clubs.

The meeting discussed developments related to local football competitions organized by the Federation, which were suspended since the fifteenth of last March due to the Corona pandemic. The federation said in a press statement that its decisions came after coordination and communication with the competent authorities in the country and the evaluation of health conditions in addition to the developments that have occurred by the International Football Association, and based on all the data and based on the powers granted to the Board of the Football Association according to the statute.

And based on the failure to complete the President’s Cup, it was decided to abolish the administrative penalties for players and coaches who obtained the yellow cards in the event that they were not implemented until the date of cessation of activity and do not transfer to the sports season 2021-2020 and the application of the rules stipulated in the discipline list related to disciplinary sanctions. It is the same decision resulting from the non-completion of the first-degree league competition, and accordingly it was decided not to crown a champion of the competition, cancel the rise of clubs for the Arab Gulf League, and establish the first-class league competition for the sports season 2021-2020 with the same clubs participating in the sports season 2020-2019.

Among other decisions, the abolition of any administrative penalties requiring the suspension of a player or coach as a result of obtaining a yellow card in the event that it was not implemented until the date of cessation of activity, provided that it does not transfer to the sports season 2021-2020, and the application of the rules stipulated in the discipline list related to disciplinary sanctions.

As for the external participation, it was decided to rely on the results of the sports season competitions 2019-2018 to determine the clubs that will participate in the external championships. The Football Association affirms its keenness on the safety of the community members and the soccer family from technical and administrative bodies, players, referees, fans and other affiliates, praising the efforts and clubs of the clubs to implement all the decisions that were issued during the last period.
