Because of the ongoing pandemic and the restrictions on the public in Sweden, they saw no other solution than to cancel the competitions.
- We have full understanding of this, but it feels very boring. We have had the competition now for a few years and we hope to do something similar in the future. We were a little prepared for this, but we have hoped for the best in the long run. Unfortunately, there is nothing to do with this pandemic, says Linda Fogelström, GP general for the competition in Hallstavik.
She also believes that it is a noticeable financial loss not to arrange the competition.
- That's up to half a million we had expected to receive. Of course, it is noticeable.
The World Cup organizer still hopes to be able to run competitions further ahead and that one can be crowned a champion in October. To qualify for a champion, at least eight competitions are required.
