During the spring, watching sports has been cool. But in recent weeks, matches and competitions have begun to be re-arranged around the world.

One of the leagues starting over is the Spanish High League, and a study by Nielsen Sports shows that interest in the league was great the first week that matches were played. Their survey showed that viewership has increased by as much as 48 percent around the world since the residency.

The continent where the largest increase occurred in Africa, where the viewership figures went up by as much as 73 percent, closely followed by Asia where the viewership figures were 72 percent higher than before the stay.

Even in Europe, viewership was higher (56 percent). The European country where the biggest increase occurred was Belgium, where the national season has ended and is not to be resumed. There, the viewing has more than doubled, and increased by 130 percent.

Nationally, too, there has been an increase, albeit not as great. There, viewership increased by 12 percent.

- We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer live sports entertainment during a time when few similar events are being organized around the world. We hope that other competitions in other places will also start soon, because it is important for the fans and the industry, says La Liga president Javier Tebas, according to the Reuters news agency.

Oscar Mayo, who is La Liga's market leader and responsible for international league development, is also pleased.
