The NBA is thoroughly preparing the final phase of its 2019-2020 season, which will be held from July 31 at the Disney facilities in Orlando. With the need to finish the regular league and play the Playoffs, the league has become serious about its rules and wants to turn the amusement park into an absolute bubble so that there is not the slightest chance of seeing a positive in coronavirus that throws by land the outcome of the competition.

In a document sent to the players and published by ESPN , the NBA has outlined the sports and recreational rules and options that franchise members will have when they arrive in Orlando.

As for the Covid-19, when the teams arrive at Disney they will have to be quarantined in the hotel rooms for 48 hours until they fail two tests for the coronavirus. This will ensure that there is no one in the bubble with the virus. During that time, players won't even be able to visit their teammates' rooms. According to the NBA, after that day the players will pass a test "regularly", without specifying the periodicity of those tests.

If a player tests positive for the virus, they will be quarantined and retested to ensure that it is not a false positive. And as soon as it is confirmed, you will be placed on treatment for at least 14 days before considering your return to the courts again.

For players who do not want to attend the bubble, the NBA has determined a " protected " condition for those who justify a high risk of illness if they contract the virus. That player will not lose any of his salary and will not contest the final phase. In the event that they are unable to justify this protected status with medical arguments and still decide not to go to Orlando, they will lose an amount of money for each game not played , depending on their total salary for the season. Players have until June 24 to report their decision to the league.

The NBA also estimates special occasions to abandon the bubble, such as the illness of a relative or the birth of a child . In that case, the player will have to go through a quarantine of four days and pass several tests of the Covid-19 again. If the reason is not justified, the quarantine will be ten days.

Life in the bubble: golf, video games, movies ...

Beyond the Covid-19, the day to day of the players during the final phase of the league at Disney will be almost like a summer camp : training, meals and free time to play video games , movie screenings, ping pong (although not doubles), golf, fishing, bowling, hairdressing (by appointment), DJ music set, swimming pool, restaurants closed just for them ... And a new card game every time they want to play a game. In total, each franchise will be able to bring 37 people to Orlando , including players.

Regarding the matches, it will be similar to the Olympic Games, in the sense that the players who are not playing the match will be able to attend another public . That is, we can see LeBron James in the stands while the Clippers, the Celtics or the Bucks, their great rivals for the ring, play. There will be three pavilions where matches can be played, without an audience and with a limited number of members from other teams, journalists and league staff. The players who participate in the matches will have to come dressed in the match kit from the hotel and when they finish they will have to go to the shower. Therefore, there will be no famous fashion catwalk prior to each duel.

After the first round of the Playoffs, guests are allowed to enter the bubble, upon payment of the corresponding room by the players. These guests will have to go through a period of quarantine prior to entering Disney and a later one, with their corresponding 'negatives' in the tests.

The top four teams from each conference will stay at the Gran Destino Tower hotel, (Bucks, Lakers, Clippers, Raptors, Nuggets, Jazz, Celtics and Heat), the teams ranked 5th to 8th of their conferences will sleep at the Grand Floridian (Pacers, Sixers, Nets, Magic, Rockets, Thunder, Mavericks and Grizzlies), and those who are out of the Playoffs Yacht Club right now will rest at the Yacht Club (Wizards, Blazers, Pelicans, Spurs, Kings and Suns).
