To avoid any risk of transmission within the workforce, the Aiglons were tested during the day. Tuesday and Wednesday, they will also undergo physical tests after three months off, before resuming training at the weekend. Individual first then collective from June 22.

Precautions for a next season that promises to be special (and perhaps also in Europe) after the interruption of the previous one. What challenges? Which players? Coach Patrick Vieira took advantage of this return to take stock.

Fifth place but not enough to show off

Happy to find the training center and the players, after three months of absence, Patrick Vieira keeps a cool head despite the fifth place of his club in Ligue 1. He draws a mixed picture of the season which ended early because of health measures related to the new coronavirus.

And for the next one, "it will take experience, it will take talent, aggressiveness, character to help these young players to progress", decided the coach of the Aiglons.

Names and hopes around the transfer window

“It is a club which progresses, which grows and we must continue to grow. You have to work with intelligence and try to make as little mistakes as possible with the transfer window, ”also said Patrick Vieira, when asked about the expected arrivals.

"Daniliuc is a player that interests us and Schneiderlin is a very interesting profile because he is a player who is looking for a new challenge", concluded Vieira who displays his determination to develop OGC Nice while remaining elusive on the names that circulate.

What about the European challenge?

"There is no guarantee of playing this cup," insists Patrick Vieira when the Europa League is mentioned. Because, despite their fifth place in the league, the Aiglons can only hope for a qualification for the group stage of the Europa League. It all depends on the cutting finals. If PSG wins one of the two, the OGCN will play Europe.

An uncertain challenge but hoped for by the supporters, which would allow OGC Nice to try, three years later, to take revenge on this competition.
