Ahead of the 2018 season, Mathias Karlsson joined Örebro SK from Carlstad United BK in Division 1. But he was not allowed to do a single minute in the Allsvenskan. Instead, it became a transition to Gais and when the Gothenburg citizens received Jönköping Södra in the premiere of the Superettan, Karlsson gained the trust between the posts - and delivered.

Gais got off to a great start to the game and took the lead in the eighth minute. This when August Wängberg neatly loaded the offensive and cut into a perfectly placed post from Richard Yarsuvat and scored his fifth goal in Gaiströjan.

With the early management goal came more and more ball possession for the guests who pressed for a receipt. But Karlsson between the pillars stood for everything he was faced with - even though it cost a few bruises.

- The first blow I get in my lap, the second in the hip. It hurt but went over pretty quickly. It can't get much better than this, it's euphoria, ”Karlsson tells Dplay after the win.

"Missing to play matches"

Karlsson had not played a competition match for more than two seasons before Tuesday night's premiere in Superettan, which has made him very game week, he says.

- I got a really good education in Örebro, but I have missed playing games, you can't have that fun. Right now I'm just happy.
