It has been tense waiting in many parts of sports Sweden for spring's hottest decision. Large organizers such as the marathon group, Gothenburg-Varvet, Vansbro swimming and Stockholm Triathlon handle large sums of money, have fixed costs and are therefore also sensitive to lost revenue.

Many private individuals have chosen to waive repayment and, for example, have been compensated for having the starting place moved one year in time. However, a number of people have notified organizers to ARN and demanded their money back.

Now comes a clear message from ARN.

- Anyone who does not receive an agreed performance, such as the opportunity to participate in an exercise race or to go to a concert, is thus basically not obligated to pay for it, says Marcus Isgren, director of ARN.

"Hardly slept tonight"

An exception is the Vättern Round which is saved by a writing in the terms that gives them the right to retain half the starting fee if something unforeseen occurs. It normally trades SEK 45-48 million in start-up fees, this year around ten million less because everyone has not been able to pay.

- I can't say I've slept very well last night. If we had been forced to repay everything, we would not have been able to continue, says Gunilla Brynell-Johansson, who thanks foresight predecessors who entered that point in the terms.

- I am extremely grateful for it, but feel at the same time with other organizers.
