The West Asian Football Federation has decided to postpone the tenth edition of the West Asian Men's Football Championship, which the country will host in 2021.

This came during the meeting held yesterday, with a system of "remote" video communication, with the participation of the Secretary General of the Football Association, Mohammed Al Dhaheri, and the Secretary General of the West Asian Federation, Khalil Al Salem, as well as the Secretaries General of the national federations that are members of the Union.

Al-Dhaheri said in a statement to the Football Federation today: “The meeting discussed several items, the most important of which is the tenth tournament for men’s teams, which was scheduled to be held in the UAE early next year. Football and joint qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

He added that "the Emirates Football Association will hold coordination meetings with the West Asian Federation in order to set proposed dates for the establishment of the tournament so that these dates are suitable for all participating teams."
