Initially, there was little chance between IFK Gothenburg and Elfsborg. But at the end of the first half the guests started to press on Gothenburg, and eventually it would pay dividends. After a gift from the Blåvitt defense, the trio Jesper Karlsson, Rasmus Alm and Per Frick were able to give the guests the lead.

Karsson had a good shot just outside the penalty area, but opted instead to test Giannis Anestis, he passed the ball to Per Frick inside the penalty area. But he also would not go for a finish, and instead passed over to Alm who a few meters from the left post got a cannon position but immediately fit back to Frick who could easily put 1-0.

Better Gothenburg in others

In the second half, Gothenburg lifted the game, and began to shake off most fine attacks. But it would never be really dangerous, and the receipt was absent. And it didn't get any easier for the Gothenburgers when August Erlingmark stepped on a lying Moroccan Ndione's back. A bright red card with less than ten minutes left to play.

Gothenburg did what they could with a man less on the pitch, but Elfsborg was able to hold off a tight defense and win 1-0. The victory was Elfsborg's first against Gothenburg in Gothenburg since 2003.
