The Secretary-General of the Basketball Association, Salem Al-Mutawa, confirmed that the Board of Directors will hold an important meeting within days to review the efforts made for the return of the game's activity and the completion of the season in August, as previously announced. He stressed that Salah Al-Din Hall in Dubai has been settled to hold matches in it if a decision to resume the season is officially reached.

He added to «Emirates Today»: We have already taken a preliminary decision to complete the interrupted season due to the Corona pandemic in August, but it cannot be activated without obtaining approval from the health authorities in the country and the Higher Committee for Crises and Disasters to activate the decision.

He added: I personally expect that the decision to complete the season, whether or not it will be officially seen before the beginning of next July.

He continued: We have taken all necessary measures to complete the season, as Salah Al-Din Hall in Dubai, a facility affiliated to the General Authority for Sports, has been chosen for two matches per day.

He drew: All the facilities of the hall will be sterilized, and the mass attendance in each match will not exceed more than 100 individuals, even though the hall accommodates 500 people, and we explained during the Forum for the Return of the Fans organized by the Dubai Sports Council in cooperation with Dubai Police last Wednesday, the way the fans are present in the stands. We have taken into consideration that the boundary between each individual is approximately four meters.

He said that the precautionary measures would also include outside the hall, in parking lots, and alerting the masses to the need for distance spacing, as well as there will be an isolation room for any suspected case, besides contracting with a private sterilization and cleaning company.
