Interrupted by the Covid-19, the 2019-2020 Champions League should come to an end. According to several European media, including the German site Bild.de or the French sports daily L'Équipe, the competition should end in the form of a tournament in August in Lisbon, with a final on the 22nd or 23rd of the month.

For the Europa League, which stopped like the C1 at the stage of the round of 16, it is the region of Cologne, Germany, which holds the rope, according to Bild. The two tournaments would be played in single knockout matches, starting in the quarterfinals.

Final decision within a week

The official decisions on these two competitions must be taken during the UEFA executive committee, scheduled for June 17-18.

Before the final tournament of the Champions League, it will be necessary to play the four round of last 16 finals which were suspended by the confinement of Europe in March: Juventus-Lyon, 0-1 to go; Manchester City-Real Madrid (2-1); Bayern Munich-Chelsea (3-0); and Barcelona-Naples (1-1). These meetings could take place over the weekend of August 8 and 9, according to Bild. Atletico Madrid, Paris SG, Leipzig and Atalanta Bergamo have already qualified.
