A clear competition will give a higher level of the judges in Swedish elite football. This is according to Chief Justice Stefan Johannesson, who for the first time in 19 years will not judge himself.

- Now it is more based on performance. There are 23 judges in total, of which eleven are in the All Swede from the start, but those who start in the super suit are qualified for the All Swede. If you have an overcrowding and it does not go so well then maybe you go down in the superett and judge and on the contrary if you make great efforts there and there is a gap in the whole Swedish then maybe you go up and judge there, he says.

It is a change that you have made to raise the level, another is that you have hired a referee coach.

- Now we have someone who can really develop the judgments. In the past we only had someone who added the matches.

"Never had such a well-trained judge"

Johannesson also thinks that physics will be remarkably good.

- They are super-tagged. We have had such a long period now without matches with just train, train, train. I never think we have had such a well-trained judge. It can be seen in the test results as well.

What have you been talking about for the season?

- We talk in terms of being a match leader. It doesn't have to be a police officer running around and being aggressive, but you are humble and lead the game in a nice way. Communication is positive. We want to try to have a nice climate on the pitch.

Do not want interviews immediately after the match

The chief of judges also reports that they have created a forum where the clubs and the judges page will discuss. This is to avoid the frustration of the clubs and unnecessary headlines in the media.

In the question of whether the referee should talk to the media or not immediately after the match, Johannesson has a clear opinion.

- I don't really like it. When judging internationally, there is zero contact with the media and I think that is somewhere good.

- Then I understand that you get the talk that the judge is just hiding, but that's not about it. It's really a matter of talking about a decisive match situation right after, you might not have been able to look at the material. Then it can often be wrong and instead of calming down situations, it escalates.
