Al-Jazira Club announced yesterday that it has signed a contract with the Danish coach and strategist, Mads Davidsen (37 years old), to occupy the position of sports director of football at the club. Davidson came to the island from the Chinese club "Shanghai SIBG", where he worked as the technical director of the club, and worked closely with international coaches, most notably the Swedish Sven Goran Eriksson and the Portuguese Vijash Boach.

The club confirmed in a press statement that Davidson is scheduled to work closely with the Dutch first team coach, Marcel Kaiser, and with the management team, to reformulate and form a football philosophy, and to apply the latest and best methods and standards at the level of all age group teams in the club.

The academy and youth teams will be part of the responsibilities that Davidson will assume on the island, as well as the first team, and will also focus on developing an escalating system for young players. And due to the restrictions of movement imposed due to «Covid-19», Davidson will start his duties in the club from his residence in Spain, but he will move to stay with his family in Abu Dhabi when the conditions are ready for that.
