The American Professional Football League said on Wednesday that the contest will be completed on the eighth of July after stopping for nearly three months due to an epidemic of Covid-19 in Disney World in Florida without fans.

"We are delighted to be cooperating with Disney to resume the 2020 season and return to playing football," American League Commissioner Don Jarber said in a statement.

"The opportunity to group 26 teams in a controlled environment that helps us protect the health of players, coaches and teams to return to competitions," he added.

All 26 teams participate in a competition that runs through August 11.

The World Cup system competition is calculated by counting the group stage matches in the preliminary round of the league and the winner of the tournament will win a seat in the CONCACAF 2021 Champions League.

Players also have the opportunity to receive additional rewards with a total prize pool of $ 1.1 million.

After this competition, the American League said that it plans to continue the preliminary round system with a review of the schedule of home and away matches, followed by the elimination roles.

Clubs will arrive in Orlando on June 24 for training, but must gather in a sports resort about seven days before the first match.

Each team plays three group games and these results will be counted in the preliminary round season arrangement.

The first and second of each group, along with the top four teams, occupy the third place, to the defeated exit roles.

Teams will be divided into six groups during the drawing of lots tomorrow, Thursday, with three groups for the eastern section and three for the western section.
