The International Motorcycle Federation announced on Wednesday that the Italian Grand Prix, which was initially postponed due to the new Corona virus, was completely canceled from the 2020 calendar, thus joining the list of races canceled due to the "Covid-19" outbreak.

The federation indicated that it will be the first time in nearly 30 years, not to host the Tuscan circuit, the Italian Grand Prix.

The International Motorcycle Federation and Spanish group Dorna, which promotes the World Championship for the first category, still have to submit a modified calendar after the great chaos of Covid-19.

The motorcycle championship schedule was greatly affected by the virus outbreak, as only Moto 2 and Moto 3 categories were held in the first stage of the championship at Lusail Circuit in Qatar on the eighth of last March, and no race has been held since then.

So far, eight races have been canceled and many have been postponed.

The president and general manager of Dorna Group Carmelo Espeleta made it clear in early June that he expected to present a new calendar soon.

"We hope to present the program next week. If all goes well, we will start on July 19 at the Jerez circuit (Spanish)," Espeleta said in a video posted on the championship's website.

He pointed out that the season is scheduled to run until November, and will include the holding of 12 or 13 major prizes.

Our role asked the Spanish government to authorize the organization of two races without an audience on July 19 and 26 at the Jerez (Andalus) circuit, but has yet to reveal the response.
