The 35-year-old Russian ended his career in 2017 and has not competed since 2016.

Sjustov won gold at the European Championship gold in high jump in Barcelona 2010. His suspension became public on June 5 this year and is counted between July 2013 to July 2017, where among other things a seventh place in the 2015 World Cup in Moscow is eliminated.

Will appeal the verdict

To the news agency Tass, Alexander Sjustov says he thinks the Cas decision is wrong. Although Sjustov has been retiring for several years, he plans to appeal the verdict, according to Russian news agency RIA Novosti.

Sjustov was trained by Yevgeny Zagorulko, who has links to another well-known doping case in Russian athletics: The high jump Danil Lysenko.

Sjustov's personal record is 2.36 from 2011.
