The Council of State suspended the relegations of Amiens and Toulouse in the second division (Ligue 2) of the French football championship, this June 9. The country's highest administrative court, on the other hand, rejected the appeal of Olympique Lyonnais, which demanded the resumption of the 2019-2020 season in the first division (Ligue 1), which was definitively stopped following the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2020-2021 exercise in Ligue 1 could therefore be played with 22 teams instead of the usual 20.
