An option that has been left open by the mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, who has admitted that "efforts" are already taking place so that the largest European club football event will once again host the city in its final phase.
The alderman has pointed out that Madrid has the "necessary security conditions", with "the infrastructure" with two stadiums such as the Wanda Metropolitano and the Santiago Bernabéu and "with the public services" so that the final format of the Champions League, even for decide, return to have the capital as headquarters. "It would be great news for the city," said Almeida in an interview on 13TV.
