The first La Liga return match will take place on Wednesday between Rayo Vallecano and Albacete, two second division clubs. The elite will resume on Thursday with the match Seville - Real Betis, while the reigning champion, Barcelona will play outside Saturday at RCD Mallorca and Real Madrid will host Eibar on Sunday. Barça leads the standings, just two points ahead of Real Madrid, and there are 11 games remaining.

This return to national competition will end a three-month hiatus since March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Spain has managed to control the virus in recent weeks, but remains one of the most affected countries with more than 27,000 confirmed deaths, according to the latest figures released on Sunday.
