Kevin Durant, who was selected for the NBA All-Star game every year during the 2010s, seriously injured his health in the fifth NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors last year.

Since then, Durant, who now belongs to the Brooklyn Nets, has not played a single match. And there will be no match at all this season. Although the season has been significantly delayed due to the corona pandemic and may now continue until October, Durant will not play anything at all during the 2019-20 season.

- My season is over. I don't plan on playing at all. When it happened last summer, we decided that I would wait until the next season. I had no plans whatsoever to play this season, says the 31-year-old to The Undefeated, and explains that - even though it's June 11, a year since he got injured - he still has a bit left to match form:

- It is simply best for me to wait. I don't think I'm ready to play in that kind of intensity next month. This gives me more time to get ready for the next season and the rest of my career.

The NBA was canceled on March 11. Now, the plan is to resume the season on July 31, at Disney World in Florida. There, 22 teams will gather and play the season clearly. The finals are to be decided by October 12.
