Rare in the media, Corinne Diacre will answer our questions during a long interview, Saturday evening in Europe 1 Sport. Target of criticism from some of her players, the coach of the French women's football team talks about her development and her goals.

Shaken in recent months, Corinne Diacre seems in 2020 to want to clean the past. In particular on her conflicting relationship with defender Wendie Renard from whom she had removed the captain's armband. In the Europe 1 Sport program, broadcast this Saturday evening between 6 and 8 p.m., the northerner engages in a long interview, without detours. "I don't know if I have changed. I think that we cannot change. I think that I will continue to evolve and I hope, for certain, in a good way," she says. "But very sincerely why change everything? I think some people have a good reading of what I can be and what I am today."

On the blue bench since 2017, Corinne Diacre saw her contract with the French Football Federation (FFF) extended until 2022, Friday. Indeed, women's football has not escaped the wave of postponements following the coronavirus pandemic. Scheduled for the summer of 2021, the women's Euro football championship was finally postponed to the following year so as not to coincide with the men's Euro, which was itself postponed from 2020 to 2021. Women's competition must always take place in England, and in the same stadiums initially planned, but from July 6 to 31, 2022.

"I want to bring this first title back to the Federation"

After the regrets of the World Cup in France in 2019 (elimination in the quarterfinals against the United States), the Blue and their coach still hope to win the first international competition in their history. "I never said that I did not want to win. Above all, I want to bring this first title back to the Federation. It is a personal goal that I set for myself," said Diacre, who has an additional year to prepare his group. Next meeting: September 18 against Serbia, for the first meeting of the qualifying phase for the Euro.
