The external investigation, which the figure skating association itself ordered, has been carried out by a researcher and a psychologist at Karolinska and shows a widespread maladministration in Swedish figure skating, mainly because of a widespread silence culture and authoritarian leadership.

The report, which SVT has taken note of, shows that it is common with emotional abuse in the sport and riders are selected for punishment and humiliation by the coach. Among other things through physicality, and trainers should also have produced eating disorders in riders. Several of the riders have testified about missing menstruation in several subsequent cycles.

The results also indicate that some sexual harassment has occurred, but to a small extent. In addition, behavior that violates the Convention on the Rights of the Child is reported.

The external review was conducted in two main actions, with a web survey, answered by 638 people, as well as in-depth analyzes in which 70 people participated.

In a review, SVT Sport took part in a total of 15 emails and sms sent to the board of the Swedish Figure Skating Association for twelve years. There, parents have shown malfunctions in figure skating, although the alarms continue to return.
