The judicial soap opera continues in Ligue 1. Lyon, Amiens and Toulouse disputed, Thursday, June 4, the terms of the stop of the championship of France of football, at the time of a hearing of three hours, enamelled by the combative replies of the president Jean-Michel Aulas from Lyon before the Council of State, which plans to make its decision on Monday or Tuesday.

The order, the decision of the supreme administrative court, is expected Monday or Tuesday, said the judge, who asked the parties for two additional documents.

During the session, the OL leader had lively discussions with Didier Quillot, Executive Director General of the League (LFP), who came to defend the decision of the LFP Board of Directors to end the season 2019-2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, and to freeze its classification according to a quotient points taken / matches played.

Relegated to Ligue 2

This early stop had the effect of attributing to OL the seventh place of the final classification, depriving the club of any qualification for the European competitions by means of the Championship. Amiens (19th) and Toulouse (20th) were relegated to Ligue 2.

"We are in an incredible situation, compared to the decision to stop, when we can restart. I am dismayed," said Jean-Michel Aulas, who still wants to end the season on the ground, like the other major European championships, which have chosen to resume competition.

And facing Didier Quillot, who recalled that Jean-Michel Aulas had voted for the end of the amateur championships as a member of the Federation's executive committee (FFF), when he opposed it for the L1, the boss of OL were offensive.

"For Mr. Quillot, who is recent in office, the Federation ruled only on the amateur championships. The LFP did not distinguish between professional and amateur worlds. It has nothing to do!", S is animated the president of Lyon.

"Mr. Aulas recalls that I am young in office, it's been four years, but that does not mean that I am not able to manage a Board of Directors!", Replied Didier Quillot.

For Aulas, we "sweep the whole story"

The two men expressed their disagreements on the interpretation of the date of August 3 "highly recommended" by UEFA to end the season, as well as on the possibility that Mediapro, future broadcaster of the L1 from 2020- 2021, could broadcast the restart of the interrupted season if it were to resume.

The session, attended by around thirty journalists, also discussed, among other things, the legality of the decision taken by the Board of Directors, and the questions raised by the method of calculating the final ranking.

"The ranking determined by a quotient, we have never seen that! Never! We sweep the whole history, all the investments made by Lyon, Amiens and Toulouse," argued Jean-Michel Aulas.

For his part, the president of the Amiens club Bernard Joannin, present at the hearing, was accompanied by Alain Gest, president of the urban community of Amiens (Amiens Métropole) who joined the appeal.

"This fight continues, we are happy to be there because we were forced to go to court, our last bulwark against this unfair decision of the League's Board of Directors. From the start, I denounced this decision contrary to the values of equality and sports equity ", said Bernard Joannin to the press before the hearing.
