Mercedes is organizing a two-day test session at Silverstone next week, which will see drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas back in a Formula 1 car for the first time since February.
Bottas (on Tuesday) and Hamilton (on Wednesday) use the 2018 Mercedes W09, which Hamilton won his fifth world title two years ago.
"We will test the protocols as a team in the run-up to the start of the season in Austria next month," Mercedes said on Twitter on Thursday.
The Formula 1 drivers last competed at the test days in Barcelona at the end of February. They then traveled to Melbourne in March for the Australian Grand Prix, but it was canceled at the last minute due to the corona virus.
The races in Bahrain, Vietnam, China, the Netherlands, Spain, Monaco, Azerbaijan, Canada and France were also canceled or postponed.
Formula 1 announced the first part of the new calendar on Tuesday, with eight Grands Prix in Europe. The season should start on July 5 with a race in Austria. The second race in Austria follows on July 12. Two races are also planned at Silverstone.
