Linköping's Volleyball Club won the SM gold as late as 2019. But after a 2020 when the finals were canceled, they lost revenue of almost half a million SEK and now the money has run out. The men's team has submitted a formal message to the Swedish Volleyball Association with the request to withdraw from the elite series, Corren reports.

Instead, LVC aims to start over in Division 2.

- We have sales of about SEK 2-2.5 million, so 500,000 is a lot of money for us. We no longer have anything to offer to Swedish players who come here and, of course, we also have no opportunity to bring in foreign players that we have done before. The fact that we are now closing down gives our players a chance to find new clubs, chairman Bosse Kindgren told the magazine.
