Mayweather has been in contact with the family, according to Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather's promotion company. He will be responsible for all costs surrounding the funeral that will take place in Floyd's hometown of Houston on June 9.

"He (Mayweather) will probably get angry when I tell you this, but he will definitely be responsible for the funeral costs," Ellerbe told ESPN.

Mayweather, who lives in Las Vegas, has not met Floyd's family personally.

43-year-old Mayweather, who unbeaten, retired after 50 professional matches where he won five titles is considered one of the best boxers of his generation.
