Martijn Kleermaker failed to reach the semi-finals of the PDC Home Tour on Sunday. The 29-year-old Harderwijker lost all group matches in the last 32 of the virtual darts tournament.
Tailor had no chance in the first match against Englishman Joe Cullen (6-3), but in the second game with Canadian Jeff Smith he had the win. However, the number 101 in the PDC rankings missed seven match darts and eventually lost 5-6. The last match against the Englishman Chris Dobey was also lost: 3-6.
Tailor was the revelation of the tournament until Sunday. The Gelderlander eliminated Michael Smith in the previous round, the number five in the world ranking.
Due to the elimination of Kleermaker and the earlier elimination of Geert Nentjes, Jelle Klaasen is the only Dutchman who is still active in the PDC Home Tour. Klaasen reached the semi-finals on Tuesday.
In the second phase of the PDC Home Tour, an alternative tournament where the darters come into action from home, there are eight groups of four. The eight group winners reach the semi-finals, which consist of two groups of four players. They will compete on Friday for the title of the first edition of the tournament, which is set up to offer fans something in the corona crisis.
