The Mexican Football Association announced the cancellation of the local season (2019-2020), without specifying the champion, in light of the conditions in Mexico due to the increasing outbreak of the "Corona COVID-19" pandemic.

The association said, through an official statement carried by the media in Mexico, that the decision was taken to ensure that no one in the soccer family is harmed by players, coaches, officials, referees, fans or journalists.

It is mentioned that the Mexican League includes two tournaments annually, Apertura (the opening) and Klausora (the final), where the last stopped on the tenth of last March, the reason for the outbreak of the Corona virus, with seven stages remaining at the end, especially since the League's announcement to cancel the league for the current season came after Santos Laguna announced the injury of eight players in its ranks, which set back the possibility of resuming competitions.

The association also announced in mid-April that it would suspend the decline and rise in the first and second levels for the next five years in order to ensure the continuity of the clubs.
