Cyprus media reported that Al-Wasl club dismissed the negotiations that it had started with French player Eric Boutiak, after the "emperor" had made an initial offer to sign him starting from next season.
The Cyprus newspaper, "The Gol", said: "Al-Wasl club contacted Potiak about joining its ranks in a free transfer, after the French player terminated his contract with his club, the Cypriot Omonia."
She added: "The penal clause in the Potiac contract amounts to 500 thousand euros, but Al Wasl dismissed the idea of contracting him, along with the player's desire to complete his contract with Omonia that runs until May 31, 2022, and to participate with the team in the Champions League."
She explained that Potiac had received another offer from French club Lance, but the latter was shocked by the existence of a penalty clause in the player's contract with Omonia.
