Former major league Kang Jeong-ho has officially filed for a return to KBO.

According to KBO officials, Kang Jung-ho submitted an application to return to voluntary withdrawal from KBO yesterday (20th).

Kang Jeong-ho submitted a letter of intent to return through a legal representative on April 21, but for a month or so, KBO did not go through the necessary procedures for Kang's return.

This is because Kang Jeong-ho has not submitted an application for return to voluntary withdrawal in the form specified in the baseball agreement.

This time, as Kang Jung-ho applied for return following the official procedure, KBO will hold a prize committee soon.

In 2015, Kang Jung-ho wore a major league Pittsburgh Pirates uniform through the posting system (private competitive bidding) as a member of Nexen Heroes (now Kiwoom).

Kang Jeong-ho was ranked 3rd in the 2015 National League rookie of the year, the first year of his debut, and in 2016, was the first infielder in Asia to reach 20 home runs.

However, in December 2016, a drunk driving accident occurred in Seoul, and it was revealed that he had drunk driving twice more in the past.

'Jamjin Outje' was applied to Kang Jeong-ho, and the court sentenced him to two years of probation in August.

According to the baseball regulations, Article 151, sanctions against dignity, the law states that if a person drives a drunken driving more than three times, the disqualification for at least three years is to be dismissed.

The key is whether the current rules created in 2018 can be retrospectively applied to drunk driving in 2016 when Kang Jeong-ho was not part of the KBO League.

Kang Jung-ho is expected to deliver the intention to join the Kiwoom Heroes team, which holds domestic reserves, after watching the results of the penalty.
