There have been no games in Serie A since the beginning of March. The league is now aiming to restart next month, but league captain Roberto Mancini hopes it will not.

- To me it looks a bit chaotic. As the national team captain, I hope the season is stopped now, so that we can resume the game later in peace and quiet, he says in an interview with Roma TV, which is reproduced by several different media.

Short season breaks

Mancini is afraid that a resumed season could lead to players being worn out when it's time for the European Championships next summer.

- The matches will be played at a very fast pace and I do not know if the players would be in such good shape when we reach the end of the next season.

Series A's plan is now that the current season should be completed by August 20, and that the next season will start on September 1.
