An electric vehicle that shrinks to pass between the lines of cars. It looks like a two-seater Renault Twizy. It's electric and it travels at 90 km / h. But by pressing a button, the wheels enter the chassis, it is then the width of a motorcycle to better squeeze between the cars (limited to 25 km / h).

Today's innovation recalls both the film Transformers and Inspector Gadget. It is a mini electric car that can change size, to better squeeze through traffic.

It is the famous hybrid that many dream of: half motorcycle, half car. It looks a bit like the Renault Twizy. So it's a mini electric car: two meters sixty long, four wheels, two seats, a body… just classic. The novelty is that it transforms to become more or less narrow. In road mode, it is 1.50m wide. But when you press a button, the chassis folds down and the wheels come closer. This will reduce the size to only 80 cm, the width of a scooter. So it allows you to sneak into traffic jams. And even go up the lines of cars like motorcycles.

It works while driving or you have to stop ...

No, it works while driving. The only restriction: instead of 90 km / h, the speed will be limited to 25 km / h, like a scooter or an electric bike. The vehicle is called the Triggo. It is designed by a Polish startup. She is currently working hard to get it certified. The objective is that he is authorized to use cycle paths, in narrow mode, limited to 25 km / h. If they succeed, they could strike a blow.

Do we know when it will be on the market?

In principle, by the end of the year. But the first models will be intended for rental companies and car-sharing fleets. In any case, I can't wait to see that: a machine where we are protected from rain and wind, which can take the fast lanes at 90 km / h, and which has the right to take the cycle paths… That makes you dream. It still has to be approved.
