The Italian Football Confederation has set August 20 next year to end the current season, which remains suspended due to the Corona pandemic, with the next season starting on September 1.

The Italian Federation still wants to complete the season in the first three degrees of the Professional League, but said in a statement that it will cancel the amateur and semi-professional league competitions this season.

A decision on the women's first-class league will be taken after an assessment of the clubs ’compliance with health procedures and agreement on other financial matters.

The Italian league has been suspended since March 9, and the decision to resume activity depends on the approval of the government, which set May 28 to take a decision. All matches will be played without fans.

There are 12 rounds left at the end of the Italian league, along with some matches postponed from previous rounds.

Defending champions Juventus, who are seeking their ninth consecutive title, are one point ahead of Lazio.
