Fritz Keller believes that the corona virus has meant that Germany and German football must change their approach to the sport's relationship with money. He thinks that a salary cap can be the right way to go.

- We have to consider a salary cap. I will contact my colleagues at national and international level as well as Uefa's President Aleksander Ceferin. The result must be a regulation that encompasses European law and which also applies to the UK, he says to the federation's website.

In addition to Rummenigge and Keller, Christian Seifert at the League Association has advocated regulations for transfer sums and agent fees. But any new rules would have to cover the whole of Europe and this will be difficult due to current EU legislation.

- The ongoing crisis has shed light on the problems in football that have previously been in the dark of new records, says Keller.
