Callum Hudson-Odoi, a Chelsea player and English international, was taken into police custody and then released on bail after being accused of rape by a woman as reported by the English media on Monday.
Police and an ambulance were called to the 19-year-old's home (3 caps with the Three Lions) early in the morning after a call from the complainant. “When the emergency services arrived, a woman claimed to have been raped. She was taken to hospital, "said a police spokesperson, quoted in the Daily Mail .
“A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of rape. He was released on bail but will be summoned in mid-June, "added the spokesman. According to press reports, Hudson-Odoi had met the woman on the internet and, in violation of the government-recommended protocol of social distancing, he had sent a car to pick her up and take her home.
