The Football Association announced that it will hold a meeting at 4:00 pm next Thursday under the chairmanship of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi via the videoconference system.

The federation did not mention the terms of the meeting, but sources for "Emirates Today" suggested that the meeting carries great importance, as it will determine the fate of the Arab Gulf League and the rest of the season's championships, as well as discussing the national team coach file.

It is noteworthy that the fate of the league remained pending despite the recent decision issued by the Football Association and the League of Professionals to return the activities of the season in next August, as the decision did not address the issue of completing the league that has been suspended since mid-March due to the Corona pandemic or the intended new season.

Sources indicated that there is a strong trend to the possibility of ending the league this season, especially in the wake of the submission of several claims clubs for the Football Association and the Professional League in this regard, and giving the clubs sufficient opportunity to prepare for the new season.

The Football Association is also examining the file of the new coach of the national team to succeed former Serbian coach Ivan Jovanovic, who was sacked from his position, although he has not been leading the team in any games since he was hired last December to succeed former Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk.
