Due to the corona crisis, the Swedish cross country team cannot go to camp to prepare for the season as the content of a World Cup in Germany. National team manager Anders Byström does not think it should have a significant impact,

- I see no major problems with that, except that we cannot concentrate on working with the group. In terms of training, many people have told me that they have never trained this well in the spring. This is because there is nothing else to do when you are stuck in your place. There is also plenty of snow in the mountains with perfect conditions, says Anders Byström and continues:

- Then it is obvious that you want camp and in the autumn I hope it will be possible. We also have a height championship in Beijing of 1.5 years and I hope we can go on such varieties of camps as well.

Is the future to be less on camp when it works so well?

- It is an interesting idea when sustainability is important. If we see that this works well maybe we should choose it. Is it worth going to camps around the world given the situation in Sweden? It may not be so, and then we have to evaluate it. An exciting thought.

"It's boring"

Moa Lundgren, who is new to the national team, thinks it is a pity that there will be no camps this summer.

- It is sad that even your first A-team year there will be much fewer camps, that you do not really get the whole cake. But I see it as an opportunity to go to places where there is snow like Saxnäs and train on my own. But I've been in the same place as Emma (Ribom) and Ebba (Andersson) have been, says Moa Lundgren.

Apart from the fact that there will be no camps, the men and the ladies will become more intertwined.

- It is new for this year that we are going to work together and I think it is important is important that we see benefits from it. We have a great ladies team and the men who are strong, but who may need a little more input from the ladies side. Then it is about the coaches being able to work with both sides. We can work together to develop the riders, says national team manager Anders Byström.
