Chancellor Angela Merkel last week gave the German football league a clear start, but with a number of restrictions and prohibitions to deal with. The entire football world is now watching with excitement as the Bundesliga players march in front of empty stands on Saturday.

Some of the rules introduced:

  • Each player is allowed a maximum of 30-40 minutes in the dressing room on match day.
  • The teams should come out of the player tunnel at different times. In addition, children's mascots, handshakes and team photos are kicked off before kick off.
  • All players on the bench should wear a face mask and have at least one chair in between.
  • High-fives, hugging and mockery are forbidden on the pitch.
  • Goals can be celebrated quickly with elbows or feet.
  • The head trainer should wear a face mask. The trainer is allowed to remove the face mask to call out instructions, as long as he is at least one and a half meters from someone else.
