"He has told us about his plans for the league team earlier this spring," says Daniel Vandor, press manager at the Handball Association.

This is not the first time that Lundapågen has set the point for his career. Ekdahl du Rietz completely quit his handball in the spring of 2017, but a year later he made a comeback in German Rhein-Neckar Löwen.

After a short time there, he signed a two-year contract with the big club PSG and the left-hander then chose to play with the national team again. Ekdahl du Rietz was in the World Cup in Denmark last year and the European Championships at home earlier this year.

Ekdahl du Rietz has played a total of 96 international matches and scored 274 goals for Sweden.

SVT Sport has sought out Kim Ekdahl Du Rietz for a comment.
