Boxing promoter Eddie Hearne said he might want to see former world heavyweight Mike Tyson punch again, but he questioned whether the sport would welcome the 53-year-old's return to the ring again.

Tyson - who became the youngest world heavyweight champion of all time when he defeated 20-year-old Trevor Burbeek in 1986 - caught the attention of the boxing scientist when he released videos of his Instagram training and said he was considering running showcases to raise money for charity.

"I think I would love to see him but ... Is there some irresponsibility in letting a 53-year-old legend boxer return to the ring?" Hern told British boxing television.

"I got a message from someone saying he wanted to talk to me about Mike. It looks very dangerous. Can he come back 53 years old and do some damage? Should we encourage a great boxer through the ages to do that?"

"There is a thin thread, which I have already overlooked several times ... between the integrity of sport and the pleasure of achieving numbers ... Our job is to achieve numbers for television broadcasting stations, but we also have to keep things as close to their correct framework as possible."

Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield also posted a video on social media training, sparking speculation that he may return from retirement to face his old rival Tyson.
