The group stage will be held in Indonesia, Japan, and the Philippines. For the first time in the history of the Basketball World Cup, it has been held in multiple countries.
In terms of the number of participating teams, the 2023 Basketball World Cup will be consistent with the scale after the expansion in 2019, with a total of 32 teams participating. Regarding the competition system, the 2023 Basketball World Cup will continue to use the new FIBA competition system that began in 2017.
In February 2020, the qualifiers for the European region will be opened; in the second half of 2020, the qualifiers for the Americas will also begin. The qualifiers for the current Basketball World Cup will take place from November 2021 to February 2023.
By then, there will be 80 teams in the four regions of Africa, the Americas, Asia / Oceania and Europe, competing for the main window of 6 windows. (Finish)
