Two years ago, hard-hitting Francis Ngannou lost two straight matches, including a title match against Stipe Miocic, and was criticized for his smooth efforts.

Since then, the Cameroonian has been chasing a new title opportunity and wiping out four straight wins - all via knockout in the first round and within 71 seconds.

The night's meeting with suriname Jair Rozenstruik lasted only 20 seconds before the referee broke. Then Ngannou had met with some wild swings that sent Rozenstruik to the floor.

"The scariest coward ever"

The martial arts world reacted directly in social media.

"Convincing. Cruel. Future champions, ”writes boxing legend Mike Tyson, one of history's most stubborn cowards.

“Most people have fists, but Francis has a bazooka. Jösses! ”Writes welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

"I'm really trying not to exaggerate, but this version of Francis Ngannou may well be the scariest coward the MMA world has ever seen," writes Shaheen Al-Shatti, journalist at The Athletic.

In the victory interview afterwards, Ngannou was confident:

- Even when he challenged me to a match, I realized that he did not know what he was doing. He was not ready, says Ngannou.

Now he hopes for a new title match, but many point out that former champion Daniel Cormier will first have a return meeting with champion Miocic.

- It's very frustrating. I don't know what's going on with the weight class right now, but I'm here.

Francis Ngannou has won 15 of his total of 18 professional matches, including eleven on knockout.
