Cairo International Stadium won first place in the referendum "the best stadium in the world for 2020" of the public selection, conducted by the Spanish newspaper "Marca", after receiving 121,200 votes, outperforming major international stadiums such as "Santiago Bernabeu" and "Camp Nou" Spanish and Real Madrid strongholds.

The Tunisian stadium, Rades, ranked tenth (13.8 votes), and the Mohamed VI Moroccan Stadium came in 11th.

The irony is that the Spanish newspaper considered Cairo stadium a stadium for the Egyptian Al-Ahly Club, although it considered the Mohammed VI stadium a stadium for Al-Raja and Al-Wedad clubs in Morocco, which raised the discontent of the fans of Zamalek club, “the traditional rival of Al-Ahly” who felt the right to not mention its name in the referendum like the rest of the competing clubs, The same applies to the Tunisian Club Africain, whose name was not mentioned with Esperance during the referendum, as they share playing at Rades stadium.
It is noteworthy that the Al-Ahly club won the first place a few days ago in the referendum "The best club slogan in the world" conducted by the Spanish newspaper itself on its website, after obtaining three million votes.
