Giannis Antetokounmpo, one of the great stars of the NBA, suffered the hacking of his Twitter account, where racist and offensive messages were published against other players, according to the Greek forward himself and his team. "I was hacked and the situation is being investigated," said the Milwaukee Bucks figure. "The tweets and posts were extremely inappropriate and I am so disappointed and distressed that someone said those terrible things."

Antetokounmpo posted this message a few hours after deleting a series of posts that appeared on his Twitter account that included racist and obscene comments, some of them directed against teammates and players like LeBron James and even the late Kobe Bryant .

One of the messages indicated that Antetokounmpo had contracted the coronavirus and another announced that he was going to sign for the Golden State Warriors. "Giannis Antetokounmpo's social media accounts were hacked this afternoon and have been removed. An investigation is underway," the Bucks said on their Twitter account.

The Greek player apologized to the players named in the messages, including LeBron James , Stephen Curry and his Milwaukee partner Khris Middleton , and especially the family of Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash in January. "I feel especially bad for the Bryant family. During this time of pain they should not be subjected to this type of negativity and bad behavior," said Antetokounmpo.

The player's partner, Mariah Danae Riddlesprigger , and his brother Kostas Antetokounmpo said on their social networks that Giannis also suffered hacking of bank and email accounts.
