Olympique Lyonnais has not said its last word. The president of the club, Jean-Michel Aulas, announced Thursday May 7 to have brought two legal actions. "We were very hesitant to do so. The board of directors of OL Groupe made the decision this morning (Thursday) to file two appeals," he said on L'Equipe.

Following the premature termination of Ligue 1 due to the Covid-19, OL finds itself 7th in the ranking and could be deprived of participation in a European Cup next season.

"Money is not the main concern of OL. We have made sure to request a possible resumption of activity. The decision of the Minister of Sports is based on a date of August 3 which does not exist We can examine in detail with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health the health protocol validated by all European countries and see if there is a possibility of resumption, "said the boss of the Olympic Lyonnais.

"French football is not sure to recover from this premature stop"

"The second appeal relates to the modalities for stopping the championship and the method of calculating the classification (after the 28th day)", he added.

OL may not participate in a European Cup next season unless it wins the League Cup for which it has to play the final against PSG, or even win the Champions League (Lyon won its Round of 16 go against Juventus, the return could be disputed on August 8).

"French football is not sure to recover from this premature stop," said Jean-Michel Aulas. "Because nothing deserves that we take such a decision".
