The racing competitions are slimmed down to one-day events with training, qualification and race. And no audience can follow the race in place.
In order to catch up with everything in one day, the race in the premiere has been reduced from 248 to 200 laps on the 2.4 kilometer long oval track.
“We are excited and ready to start the season at Texas Motorway Speedway. Together with the health authority, we have worked out a plan to ensure the safety of everyone involved, "Indycar chairman Jay Frye told the series website.
Although the start has been delayed by almost three months, all 15 races are expected to run. The classic Indy 500 has been moved to August 23 and the final race runs on October 3.
Marcus Ericsson and Felix Rosenqvist continue in Chip Ganassi Racing in their other seasons in Indycar. Rosenqvist became best newcomer last year, in sixth place, and Ericsson finished in 20th place.
